NSC, Finance Ministry Move To Conclude Cash Reward For Super Falcons, D’Tigress

The National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Federal Ministry of Finance have taken steps to conclude the payment of the Presidential cash rewards approved for Nigeria’s Super Falcons and D’Tigress.

The development followed a meeting between NSC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele.

A key issue discussed was the conclusion of the payment process for the two national women’s teams, whose rewards were approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following their outstanding achievements in 2025.

The Super Falcons won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, while D’Tigress successfully retained the Women’s AfroBasket championship in Côte d’Ivoire.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the NSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Dr Kehinde Ajayi FCAI, the Finance Minister confirmed that the Federal Government had already completed payment for the three-bedroom flats in Abuja acquired for and presented to the players and officials.

Oyedele also assured that the process for the cash component of the Presidential rewards would be concluded immediately.

He said the players and officials would subsequently begin receiving payment alerts from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) into their individual accounts, in line with President Tinubu’s approval and directives.

The NSC said the beneficiaries had already received title documents for the three-bedroom flats in Abuja, as well as their National Honours of Officer of the Order of Niger (OON), duly endorsed by the President.

Dikko reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that all commitments made to the national teams by the Federal Government were fulfilled through due process.

He said the NSC would continue to work with relevant government agencies to ensure the Presidential rewards were brought to a successful conclusion.
