Former President Jonathan Turbaned Jigon Bauchi

The Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu has formally turbaned former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, as Jigon Bauchi, following earlier conferment of the traditional title.

The turbaning ceremony was performed at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi, under the watch of Governor Bala Mohammed, who led a delegation of government officials to the palace.

Governor Bala Mohammed commended the Emir for honouring the former President, describing the title as a recognition of Dr. Jonathan’s contributions to democracy, peace and national unity.

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan expressed appreciation to the Emir and the people of Bauchi, pledging to uphold the traditions and values associated with the title.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, traditional title holders and government functionaries.
