SSANU ABU Branch Donates To Varsity, Supports 2025 Retirees With Cash

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian University (SSANU), Ahmadu Bello University Zaria branch has donated items to six units of the institution and supports the 2025 retiring members with cash.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony held at the Assembly Hall of the University, the branch chairman, Comrade Muhammad A. Yunusa said, the donation is part of the association’s corporate social responsibilities.

Comrade Yunusa said the association chose the six units of the University and their members who retired in 2025 as the beneficiaries.

The units include Security Division, Medical Centre, Staff School, Demonstration Secondary School, Retirees and Active members of the association.

The branch chairman said, the Security Division received 10 units of digital Walky-Talky, while the Medical Centre received medical facilities.

Other presentations were made to Staff School and Demonstration Secondary School of 15 whiteboards, one carton of markers and ink each.

For the retirees, Comrade Yunusa said, in 2025 there are 120 members who retired from the active service and each received the sum of N30,000.00 as little token to appreciate their contributions while in service.

The last set of the presentation was for the active members who distinguished themselves in the association’s activities, honoured with special awards.

According to the chairman, all the presentations were made to support and motivate the beneficiaries to have an easy working atmosphere in their respective duty posts.

He said this kind gesture will continue to grow as they introduced it with good intension and hope it will be a sustainable idea by the executive of the association.

Comrade Yunusa also appealed to individuals, and corporate organisations to key into their initiative by donating and supporting the association to do more.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed expressed appreciation to what SSANU did as social corporate responsibilities as remarkable achievement.

He prayed that this kind gesture will be sustained, urging the beneficiaries to use what they received judiciously.
