…Under Inclusive Education Initiative

By Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

Governor of Yobe State, (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni is set to launch the distribution of tricycles and bicycles to students who trek long distances to school across the state.

The event, scheduled to hold today Tuesday 17th February, 2026 by 11:00 am at the Cultural Centre, Maiduguri Road, Damaturu, forms part of Governor Buni’s Inclusive Education Empowerment Programme aimed at removing barriers towards accessing quality education in Yobe State.

The initiative is designed to ease transportation challenges faced by students, particularly those in rural and underserved communities who walk several kilometres daily to attend school.

By providing tricycles and bicycles, the administration seeks to reduce absenteeism, improve punctuality, enhance academic performance, and encourage school retention.

Governor Buni’s administration has consistently demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the education sector through massive investment in infrastructure, teacher recruitment and training, provision of instructional materials and policies that promote inclusive learning for all categories of students.

The distribution exercise underscores the Governor’s people-centered leadership style and his resolve to ensure that no child is left behind due to socio-economic or geographical limitations.
