…Urges Spirit of Sacrifice and Unity

By Saidu Abubakar

As Muslims in Nigeria join their counterparts across the world to celebrate this year’s Eid el-Kabir, Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike (JP) has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, particularly members of the sporting community across the country and beyond.

This was contained in a statement by the Office of the Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

Eid el-Kabir remains a profound season of faith, sacrifice, obedience, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah. It is a sacred reminder of the virtues embodied by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose unwavering devotion and willingness to obey the command of the Almighty Allah continue to inspire generations.

On this auspicious occasion, Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports calls on athletes, administrators, coaches, officials, supporters, and all stakeholders within the sports ecosystem to reflect on the timeless values of sacrifice, discipline, perseverance, tolerance, and selflessness that the festival represents, the statement added.

Sports, much like life itself, thrives on sacrifice. Behind every triumph lies dedication; behind every medal stands commitment; and behind every national achievement rests unity of purpose. Eid therefore presents another opportunity to embrace values that strengthen not only our sporting institutions but also our national fabric.

As the nation continues its collective journey toward progress and development, there is a need for all Nigerians to deepen the spirit of peace, mutual respect, and unity, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or social differences.

Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports also used the occasion to pray for Almighty Allah’s continued blessings upon the nation, guidance for leaders, safety for citizens, and greater success for Nigerian sports on regional and global stages.

May this celebration bring joy to homes, renewed hope to hearts, and abundant peace and prosperity to Nigeria and the entire world. Eid Mubarak..!
