Maolud Nabiyy: Pillar Of Sports Felicitates Muslim Ummah, Urges Hope, Renewed Faith In Nigerian Sports

Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike (JP), felicitates the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world as they celebrate this year’s Maolud Nabiyy, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).
Chief Agu-Ejidike, in a goodwill message, through a statement by the Media Team of the Office of Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Agu-Ejidike described the occasion as a profound reminder of the Prophet’s enduring virtues of peace, compassion, discipline, sacrifice, justice, humility and perseverance, urging Nigerians to draw inspiration from these values in confronting the challenges facing the nation’s sports.
He particularly called on stakeholders in Nigerian sports to see the present difficulties in the country’s sporting ecosystem not as a reason for despair, but as an opportunity for renewal, reform and collective action, stressing that Nigerian sports possesses enormous human resource and potential which must not be allowed to wither because of administrative shortcomings, poor planning or misplaced priorities.
According to him, “Eid Maolud comes with a powerful message of hope. In sports, as in life, difficult moments are not the end of the journey. They are a call to return to the values that produce greatness — discipline, fairness, sacrifice, teamwork, transparency and accountability, and faith in the future,” the statement further revealed.
The Nnewi-born sports philanthropist urged sports administrators, government at all levels, athletes, coaches, sponsors, journalists, supporters and other stakeholders to put aside personal interests and work together to rebuild confidence in Nigerian sports, particularly at a time when the country needs a clear and sustainable pathway to reclaim its place among the comity of world’s sporting nations.
Chief Agu-Ejidike also encouraged Nigerian athletes not to lose hope because of current setbacks, assuring them that Nigeria still has the talent, energy and sporting culture to produce champions, provided the country creates an environment where talent is properly identified, nurtured, rewarded and protected.
He further urged Muslim faithful to use the celebration to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and responsible leadership in Nigeria, while calling on all Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence and mutual respect irrespective of religious, ethnic or political differences.
“May the light and lessons of the life of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) inspire us to choose hope over despair, service over selfishness, discipline over indiscipline and unity over division. May Nigeria’s sports rise again, stronger, more transparent and more purposeful than before,” he concluded.
Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike (JP) wished the Muslim Ummah a peaceful, joyous and spiritually rewarding Eid Maolud celebration, praying that Almighty Allah grants Nigeria greater peace, prosperity and a glorious sporting renaissance.
