Iran: US Needed To Learn A Serious Lesson So They Don’t Repeat Their Aggressions – Gharibabadi
According to a report by Al Jazeera on Monday August 31, 2026, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said “foreigners must be cut off” from the region following a US attack on Larak Island, according to Iran’s Fars news agency.
Gharibabadi condemned the American military operation and said Washington needed to face consequences for its actions. He argued that the United States should be made to understand that continued attacks would not go unanswered.
The Iranian official said the “US needed to learn a serious lesson so they don’t repeat their aggressions”.
His comments followed an attack by US forces on Larak Island, where several Iranian civilians and soldiers were reportedly killed or wounded, according to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB.
The strike adds to growing tensions between Tehran and Washington, with Iranian officials increasingly warning against continued American military operations in the country. Tehran has repeatedly accused the United States of violating Iran’s sovereignty through attacks on its territory and military targets.
Gharibabadi’s call for foreigners to be removed from the region reflects Iran’s broader position that outside military forces should not maintain a presence in the Middle East. Iranian authorities have previously criticized the deployment of US forces and other foreign militaries across the region.
The latest attack has also intensified concerns about further escalation between Iran and the United States. Iranian officials have vowed to respond to American attacks, while Washington has maintained that its military actions are aimed at addressing perceived threats from Iranian forces.
