FUE Zaria VC Advocates Sustained Media Collaboration For Institutional Growth

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between the media and educational institutions.
Prof. Isa Bunnkure was speaking while receiving the NUJ, Zaria Unit leadership in his office who were on a courtesy visit.
The Vice Chancellor centred on issues of mutual interest, particularly the role of the media in promoting institutional research and development, public engagement, and effective information dissemination.
Bunkure described journalists as critical stakeholders in reshaping public perception and strengthening institutional image.
He commended members of the media for their contributions to societal development and called for sustained partnership in promoting the activities, programmes and vision of the University.
Prof. Isa Bunkure highlighted the progress recorded by the University since he assumed office, outlining achievements in critical areas including academic development, infrastructure improvement, staff and student welfare, and institutional advancement.
He said, the University remained committed to strengthening its academic and administrative structures in line with its mandate and vision of attaining greater growth, relevance and visibility.
Earlier, the Secretary of NUJ, Zaria Unit Mustspha Adamu Yauri, of NAN, said the visit was aimed at fostering closer engagement with the University’s management and reaffirming the Union’s readiness to project the institution’s positive achievements.
According to him, the media plays a vital role in national development through responsive journalism, balanced reporting and effective dissemination of information to the public.
