Baba Malam Wali Wins APC Yobe Gubernatorial Primary Election

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, alongside top government officials, attended the official declaration of Alhaji Baba Malam Wali as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking shortly after the declaration ceremony in Damaturu, the chairman, Gubernatorial Primary Election Committee who is also the Minister of Housing, Engineer Dr. Rabe Darma said Baba Malam Wali emerged after being satisfied as the overall winner with 236,711 votes.

In an acceptance speech, the Yobe State APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali pledged to build on the transformative achievements of Governor Buni, promising to prioritise the revitalization of the education sector, human empowerment, agriculture, healthcare delivery and other critical sectors.

He expressed profound gratitude to Governor Mai Mala Buni for his leadership and commitment towards fostering unity among party supporters in the state.

Baba Malam Wali outlined the critical sectors designed to sustain and expand the Buni administration’s successes to include youth and women empowerment, security and infrastructure development, among others.

He commended members of the electoral committee for their dedication towards transparent exercise across the state.

Baba Malam Wali also called on those who contested to work collectively to ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming general election.

The declaration ceremony was attended by the Chairman, Critical Stakeholders who is also the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, Deputy Governor, Alhaji idi Barde Gubana, Speaker, Yobe State House of Assembly, Alhaji Chiroma A. Buba Mashio, 9th Assembly Senate President, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, former Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba and Lawan Kolo Geidam.

Others include the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Muhammad Goje, Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, APC Party Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Gadaka among other top government officials.
