FATHER’S DAY TRIBUTE: Celebrating A Distinguished Legacy

*In Loving Memory of Late Alhaji Hamza Maidoya (1935 – 2009)

On this Father’s Day, we respectfully commemorate the life, accomplishments, and enduring legacy of our beloved father, Late Alhaji Hamza Maidoya, a respected community leader, public servant, and philanthropist whose contributions continue to benefit and inspire generations.

• He was the first member of the Kura community to settle in Unguwar Sanusi, Kaduna, in 1970, helping to lay the foundation for the growth and development of a thriving Kura community in Kaduna State.
• He pioneered the provision of pipe-borne water to residents of Unguwar Sanusi, significantly enhancing access to clean and reliable water within the community.
• He was widely regarded as one of the most influential political figures within the Kura community in Kaduna State, serving and representing its interests for more than 67 years.
• In 1976, he became the first Councillor of Unguwar Sanusi, a landmark achievement in the community’s political history.
• In 1977, he was responsible for naming a section of Unguwar Sanusi Layika, a designation that remains in use today.
• He was among the pioneering individuals who established the first Ahlus Sunnah Islamiyya School in Kaduna State in 1977.
• He facilitated the establishment of a dedicated abattoir (slaughter facility) for butchers in Unguwar Sanusi in 1977, supporting local commerce and public health.
• In 1978, he served as Councillor for Works and Agriculture in the Kaduna Local Government.
• In 1979, he was appointed Councillor for Health and Social Welfare in the Kaduna Local Government.
• During his tenure as Councillor for Health and Social Welfare, he played a significant role in the establishment of Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital in Tudun Wada, Kaduna, in 1979.
• From 1981 to 1983, he served as the first Kantoma (Sole Administrator) of Tudun Wada District, Kaduna, demonstrating exemplary leadership and dedication to public service.
• He devoted more than 50 years to politics, governance, and community development in Kaduna State.
• He generously donated the land on which the Danfodio Central Mosque in Unguwar Sanusi, Kaduna, was built and remained actively involved in its administration and leadership.
• He led the Yan Doya Market Association in Kaduna State for nearly 20 years, serving with distinction and unwavering commitment until his passing in 2009.

Late Alhaji Hamza Maidoya embodied vision, integrity, leadership, and selfless service.

His steadfast dedication to community advancement and public welfare established a legacy that continues to inspire and guide future generations.

May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him His boundless mercy, and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

On this Father’s Day, we pay tribute to a true pioneer, esteemed leader, and devoted community builder. We remain deeply proud of his achievements, and his legacy will continue to endure for generations to come.
