Even One Million Of Yari Will Not Save Tinubu’s Victory – Primate Elijah Ayodele

According to Primate Elijah Ayodele on Sunday, September 6, 2026, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Abdul’aziz Yari, cannot by himself guarantee President Bola Ahmed Tinubu victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Ayodele made the comment while assessing the APC’s preparations for the forthcoming election and the decision to appoint Yari as the campaign council’s Director-General.

“Even one million of Yari will not save Tinubu’s victory, and that is why Yari as the DG of the campaign is absolutely an error,” Ayodele said.

The cleric also criticised the involvement of the APC national chairman in the campaign structure, describing the arrangement as another mistake by the ruling party.

“With the party chairman, it is absolutely an error,” he stated.

Ayodele’s remarks come shortly after the APC unveiled its presidential campaign council ahead of the 2027 election. Yari, a former Zamfara State governor and senator, was appointed Director-General of the council, while Tinubu is chairman and Vice President Kashim Shettima serves as vice chairman.

The appointment has placed Yari at the centre of the APC’s efforts to secure Tinubu’s re-election. Following his appointment, Yari expressed confidence that the campaign organisation would deliver victory for the president.

However, Ayodele argued that the party still had an opportunity to reconsider its approach if it wanted to strengthen its chances at the polls.

“That is why, if the APC could retrace their steps and get the technicality and the formality, sincerely, they would get it by their crooked means, and anything will not happen,” he said.

Ayodele further stated that there were limits to what political calculations could achieve, adding that divine intervention remained beyond the control of politicians.

“Only God cannot give it to you,” he declared.

The comments reflect Ayodele’s assessment of the political situation ahead of the 2027 presidential election. His statements should be regarded as political and prophetic commentary, rather than a confirmation of the eventual outcome of the election.

With the APC already putting its campaign structure in place, the effectiveness of Yari and other campaign officials will ultimately be judged by their ability to mobilise support, manage the party’s campaign and persuade voters across the country.
