Basawa Teachers’ College Old Students Association (BASOSA) has inaugurated a caretaker executive members to run the affairs of the association for the next two years with Hon. Adam Jagaba as President.
Inaugurating the executive members, the Patron of the Association, Alhaji Abubakar Tanko charged them to work towards sustaining the annual general meeting every year.
Tanko also tasked the new executives to link up with year groups to identify more members of Basawa Teachers’ College, Zaria for reunion.
Those inaugurated include President, Hon. Adam Jagaba; Vice President, Lawal Dauda Mani; Secretary, Kabir Abdu; PRO, Sani Aliyu; Asst PRO, Umaru Dabo Husamatu.
They also include Financial Secretary, Hon. Yusuf Danjumma Akuso; Treasurer, Amadu Mamman Balele; Auditor, Sagir Lawal Funtua; Legal Adviser, Justice Mohammed Adamu Hamza; Welfare Officer, Usman Musa Kwantakwaram.
The rest are Ex-officios: CP Alhassan Mamuda, Prof. Julius Atama Gwani, Umar Abubakar Kankiya, Alh. Abdu Abubakar Babadoko, and Dr. Asmau Tanimu of ABU Zaria.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of the occasion, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jakada (rtd) expressed appreciation for the massive turn out of members despite some years of break without holding meeting.
He hoped that the Annual General Meeting would be sustained uninterruptedly without any justifiable reasons.
The chairman further called on members both at home and in the diaspora to put heads together and make the association move forward.
During the general assembly, prominent old students that have excelled in their various fields of endeavour were honoured including the surviving teachers.
