Traiman: A Direct War Between Israel And Iran Could Break Out Almost At Any Moment
According to a video posted on JNS on Monday October 5, 2026, Alex Traiman, CEO of JNS, said a direct war between Israel and Iran could break out almost at any moment, and that the current threat assessment is very high.
He spoke in an interview with host Josh Hasten on the program Jerusalem Minute.
The discussion followed a warning from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about terror threats ahead of Israel’s election. Israelis will vote for a new Knesset on October 27, about three weeks away.
Traiman said the warning was broad and named no specific threat, but he said threats do exist on several fronts.
In his words, Alex Traiman said, “Prime Minister Netanyahu gave a sort of broad non-specific warning about terror threats and threats on multiple fronts.
” And of course, there are threats on multiple fronts. There are many Israelis that recognize that a direct war between Israel and Iran, either together with the United States or without the United States, could break out almost at any moment, maybe at the whim of President Donald Trump, who’s recently said that decisions will have to be made probably right after the midterm elections.
“But there’s another side of this war. You’ve got another side, which is Iran, which might be preparing to try to influence the elections by forcing President Trump’s hand prior to the US election. So the threat assessment right now is very, very high,” he said.
Traiman pointed to two recent incidents abroad: the attack on Fly Dubai Flight 1073 and the arrests near RAF Fairford in Britain.
He said they show that many international terror threats may be circulating.
He also described a briefing given to opposition leader Yair Lapid. Lapid said afterward that the briefing was not specific and that Netanyahu was trying to stoke fear before the election.
Traiman said the events that followed, in Britain and on the flight, supported Netanyahu’s warning.
He added that Gaza and southern Lebanon remain live possibilities for attacks on Israeli soldiers or the home front, alongside the threats from Iran and the Houthis. These are Traiman’s views and assessments.
