Terrorists Have Been Killing People In Southern Kaduna For Over A Decade – Shehu Sani
Senator Shehu Sani has spoken about the prolonged security challenges facing residents of Southern Kaduna, stating that terrorist and bandit attacks have continued to claim innocent lives in the area for more than a decade.
Sani made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television on Saturday, September 26, 2026, while discussing the security situation in Kaduna State and the experiences of communities affected by persistent violence in the region.
According to the former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th National Assembly, the persistence of attacks over such a long period has left many people in Southern Kaduna exposed to serious security threats and untold hardship.
He argued that the killings have continued for years without a decisive solution, with residents repeatedly facing deadly attacks by terrorists and bandits who invade their communities.
Sani’s comments focused on what he described as the prolonged nature of the crisis and the failure of relevant authorities to adequately address the security concerns of affected communities.
Speaking during the interview, Sani stated that the situation in Southern Kaduna should not be viewed as a recent development or a new security challenge, stressing that the region has experienced relentless attacks for many years.
He said the violence has affected ordinary citizens, farmers, women and children and communities that have had to live with the consequences of insecurity and displacement.
He lamented that despite several administrations at both state and federal levels, the security architecture has not been able to permanently stop the bloodshed in Southern Kaduna.
