Police In Akwa Ibom Arrest 27-Year Old Man For Armed Robbery

A 27-year old man, Wisdom Eyo has been arrested by the Police in Uyo, Akwai Ibom State over an alleged armed robbery. Eyo, a native of Abak Local Government area of the state was arrested following the Police Command’s sustained efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and ensure the safety of all residents.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John said the suspect was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, by operatives who were acting on credible intelligence.

“Upon his arrest, the following items were recovered from the suspect: One (1) face mask, Three (3) rounds of 9mm calibre ammunition, One (1) round of 7.5mm ammunition, Items suspected to be charms, large motor bearings and One (1) pen knife.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect allegedly acquired the ammunition while outside the state, specifically at Edo and Bayelsa States. The suspect has made useful statements to the Police and further investigations are ongoing to unravel the full extent of his activities and possible accomplices,” DSP John stated.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state has vowed to make Akwa Ibom a no heaven for criminals, urging members of the public to continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information.
