The Pentagon has fired the publisher, editor-in-chief, and a senior reporter of Stars and Stripes over alleged “insubordination” — after the military newspaper first exposed the harsh conditions and mental distress among crew on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Deployed for over 270 days during the Iran conflict with almost no port visits, nearly 5,000 sailors aboard the carrier faced severe supply shortages and dire onboard conditions, sparking concern and outrage.
