The Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Team and Vipers Volleyball Club have delivered impressive performances at the ongoing 2026 CAVB Zone 3 Volleyball Club Championship in Ghana.
In the women’s category, Nigeria Customs Service secured a 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-13 and 25-20) victory over Ghana Immigration Volleyball Club in their first match.
The reigning CGC Volleyball Premier League champions also recorded a dominant 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-8) win against AS Douanes VC of Burkina Faso.
2025 National Division 1 champions, Vipers VC were equally impressive, defeating Dynamic VC of Benin Republic 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-20) and also overcoming Sonabel VC of Burkina Faso 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-20).
In the men’s event, Nigeria Customs Service continued their winning run by defeating All Stars VC of Benin Republic 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-17).
The Team Manager of Vipers VC, Jabar Suraj Abiodun commended the players for giving their best in their first two matches.
He vowed that the entire team would not relent as they are in Ghana to secure the trophy.
Also speaking, the captain of Vipers, Esther Mbah applauded the management of the club for ensuring the club attended the Zone 3 Championship.
She said, “I want to thank the management of Viper VC for ensuring we attend this championship. The tournament will assist the squad in making a huge mark in the upcoming 2026 CGC Volleyball Premier League.”
Meanwhile, an elated Sports Director of the Nigeria Customs Service, Samuel Onikeku, has expressed delight over the performances of the country’s representatives at the club championship.
He credited the victories to the investment and support of the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and the management.
Onikeku said; “I want to commend the players, coaches and entire crew for their performance at the ongoing Zone 3 CAVB Club Championship.
“The win can be attributed to the continuous investment of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, CGC Adewale Adeniyi and his management; the players are always properly motivated before, during and after tournaments.
“Our main objective is to return home with the trophy as we did in Ghana last year during the 2025 Super Cup.”
