NBA President Commends Gov Buni for Supporting Over 700 Yobe Law Students

President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has commended Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni for supporting Yobe State law students in various universities and law schools.

A statement by Mamman Muhammad who is the DG, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor said that the president made the commendation on Monday, 13th July 2026 when he paid a courtesy visit to Gov. Mai Mala Buni at the Government House, Damaturu, saying “available records indicate that you have sponsored over 700 law students, that is indeed a commendable effort” .

Osigwe described the developments recorded in other sectors in the state also as highly commendable, “the state government has remained focused as it moves out of the protracted security challenge”.

Responding, Gov. Buni assured that his administration would continue to promote the rule of law and support legal institutions for peace, security and development across the state.

“It is said, the judiciary is the last hope of the common man, therefore, government would continue to support every instrument and institution for justice, peace and security to thrive in the state,” Buni said.

He commended the NBA President for giving his colleagues in Yobe State a true sense of belonging. Your visit today gives us that sense of belonging and l truly appreciate you,” he added.

The NBA State Chairman, Barr Khaliel, also applauded Gov. Buni for supporting the law students, ensuring that economic challenge does not deny anyone the opportunity to pursue his or her dream.
