The Governorship candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP) in Kebbi State for the forthcoming 2027 general elections, Alhaji Ahmadu Zumaru has promised to establish guidance and counselling units for the youths in primary to tertiary institutions in order to promote discipline, morality, patriotism and respect for societal values.
He made the promise Saturday during Candidates Engagement Forum (CEF) being organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kebbi State Council.
According to him, if elected, his administration will give emphasis on education, particularly in the rural areas affected by insurgency.
He also promised to propose a joint rural development programme to enable local government councils to contribute 20% of the funds they received together with the contributions from the state’s funds so as to discourage rural-urban migration by improving infrastructure and economic opportunities in rural areas.
Zumaru, however, noted that his style of administration will follow the due process in governance according to the nation’s Constitution.
