Kebbi LG Chairman Debunks Social Media Report

By Kabir Dan-Katsina, Birnin Kebbi

The Chairman of Danko Wasagu Local Government area in Kebbi State, Hon. Hussaini Aliyu Bena, has described as untrue the purported social media reports indicating that the State Government has anointed Kabiru Tukura as the sole candidate for Zuru-Sakaba-Fakai-Danko-Wasagu Federal Constituency for next year’s election.

While responding to questions from journalists in Birnin Kebbi, Bena said Governor Nasir Idris, being an honest leader, had given opportunities to all politicians willing to contest for legislative seat to do so without fear of molestation, contrary to insinuations in the social media.

The chairman noted that such information had emanated from people outside the All Progressives Congress and those envious of the speed of rapid development recorded by Governor Idris in Zuru Emirate and the state at large, stressing that they would be put to shame during the polls in 2027.

According to him, talking about Kabiru Tukura as a legislature representing our area, one can only praise him rather than blame him. He had provided hospitals, schools and security outposts for the protection of lives and property.

“He has shown love and care for us during the days of severe insecurity days. It is on record that no politician presently seeking to contest with him has ever visited us during the hard times,” the chairman noted.

He urged all APC stakeholders and Kebbi State Government to disregard the social media report, stressing that the people of Zuru Emirate remain solidly behind the Governments of President Tinubu and Governor Idris, especially in the forthcoming general elections.
