KBSG Approves Funds For Projects In Education Sector

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has directed the release of funds for key projects in the education sector including the settlement of outstanding students registration fees for the 2024/2025 academic session.

This was confirmed to journalists on Thursday by the Commissioner, Ministry for Higher Education, Hon. Isah Abubakar Tunga at a news briefing held at the Conference Hall of his Ministry in Birnin Kebbi.

The projects, according to the Commissioner, includes renovation of Abdulsalam Nagimbana, Bush House and Emir Haruna Rasheed Students Hostels at the the State College Of Health Sciences And Technology (KBSCHST), Jega at N230,205,981.96, procurement of essential equipment for the immediate take-off of the newly established College of Midwifery, Ambursa in Birnin Kebbi, Library, Demonstration Room, ICT, Sick Bay, Physical Sciences Laboratory and Microbiology Lab for N251,525,066.00 as well as payment of the remaining outstanding registration fees for Kebbi State students studying across the nation for the 2024/2025 academic session at N695,936,660.00.

“The landmark intervention clearly demonstrates Governor Idris unwavering commitment to expanding access to quality education and strengthening Kebbi State’s tertiary institutions, enabling them to compete favourably with their counterparts across the country”, Tunga said.

He however commended the governor for the release of funds and urged people of Kebbi State, including students, to support the present administration with prayers for its success in delivering quality education and good governance.
