Jewish-led Opposition Lead Netanyahu Camp In Israel Poll

Exit polls on Tuesday show no outright winner in Israel’s election but suggest the main Jewish-led opposition alliance is slightly ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition, though neither side can secure a majority.
According to the projections, the opposition bloc would win 52-53 seats in the 120-seat Knesset, while the Netanyahu camp would get 50 seats. Arab parties are projected to win 17-18 seats collectively, improving on their performance four years ago.
Eisenkot promises unity, says Israel is ‘starting a new era’. The opposition leader is promising to make military service mandatory for everyone and says his government will “unify everyone”.
He says Israel needs a “stable and responsible leadership” and that the country faces many difficulties, including economic, political and security challenges. “We are one people. And we are people who deserve a government that respects the different components of the society and recognizes them,” he said.
“I will work in order to represent the different components of the Israeli population and society, those who chose me and also for those who did not choose me,” he says.“
This will be a new start. A real new start on a new path. The old era is over, and Israel is starting a new era.”
