Iran Security Chief Says US To Face ‘New Strategy On The Battlefield’ After Strikes

According to a report by the Times of Israel, Iran’s top security official has warned that Tehran is preparing to adopt a different strategy in dealing with the United States as tensions between the two countries continue to intensify following another round of attacks and counterattacks across the Middle East.

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, made the remarks on Wednesday through a post on X. He indicated that Iran’s planned response would not be restricted to military action, but would also involve diplomatic efforts and measures aimed at resisting the economic pressure being applied by Washington.

“You will soon see that Iran’s new strategy on the battlefield, in diplomacy and in confronting the economic blockade will shatter your foundations,” Rezaei wrote.

His warning followed a fresh series of strikes involving American and Iranian forces, reportedly representing one of the most intense confrontations between the two sides in recent weeks. The latest escalation has renewed fears that the conflict could spread to additional parts of the region.

The United States military said its operations focused on Iranian military infrastructure, including air-defense installations, radar equipment and maritime capabilities. Iran, however, has claimed that its forces carried out attacks against American military positions and facilities supporting U.S. troops and allied forces across the Middle East.

Iranian officials said American positions in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq’s Kurdistan region were among the locations targeted. Authorities in some of the affected areas have also reported interceptions and other incidents linked to the attacks, demonstrating the increasingly broad geographical reach of the confrontation.

The escalating hostilities have also generated conflicting claims concerning civilian deaths. Iranian authorities alleged that a U.S. strike hit a wedding ceremony in southern Iran, resulting in civilian casualties and leaving dozens injured. Tehran condemned the reported incident as a war crime, while U.S. Central Command has continued to maintain that American forces target military objectives and do not intentionally attack civilians.

Rezaei did not provide specific information about the nature of Iran’s proposed “new strategy.” However, his reference to military operations, diplomacy and economic resistance suggests that Tehran may pursue a broader approach combining pressure on the battlefield with diplomatic initiatives and efforts to reduce the effects of American sanctions.

The development comes amid repeated threats and warnings from both governments, with President Donald Trump cautioning Iran against further retaliation and indicating that Washington could respond with greater military force.

Iranian leaders have similarly insisted that the latest U.S. attacks will not compel them to surrender. The continuing confrontation has therefore heightened concerns over possible attacks on American personnel, regional allies and strategically important infrastructure.

Rezaei’s statement suggests that Tehran considers the conflict to be moving into a new stage, with military, diplomatic and economic measures potentially being deployed simultaneously.
