I Saw N4.8m In My Bank, I Knew It Wasn’t Mine So I Sent It Back For Peace Of Mind – Faiza Abdulkadir

A woman in Maiduguri, Borno State, has drawn public attention after returning ₦4.8 million that was mistakenly sent to her bank account. Faiza Abdulkadir, who works as a cleaner at a local hospital, said she noticed the unexpected deposit and decided to send the money back after confirming it was not hers.
According to reports shared by News Central TV, Faiza explained that her decision was based on her desire for peace of mind and spiritual reward. She believed keeping the money would bring her discomfort, even though no one initially noticed the error.
The incident sparked mixed reactions across Nigeria. Many praised Faiza for her honesty, especially considering her modest income. Others expressed surprise that someone earning so little would choose to return such a large amount.
Her words:
“I received N4.8 million mistakenly in my bank account. When I confirmed that it was genuine, I knew it wasn’t my money; that was why I decided to transfer back the money for my peace of mind and quest for paradise.”
