How Tinubu Polled 389,197 Votes To Emerge APC Presidential Candidate In Akwa Ibom

Across Akwa Ibom State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged winner in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary Election held on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

The State Collation Officer, Pastor Umo Eno, who is also the Governor of the state announced a total of 389,197 votes cast by party delegates.

Governor Eno commended party faithful for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise, saying the outcome showed a reflection of the confidence and support President Tinubu is enjoying among APC members in the state.

The primary election witnessed massive participation by delegates and stakeholders from the 31 Local Government areas of the state.

In his remarks, the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio commended the governor for his peaceful disposition and the party faithful for their orderly conduct at the exercise.

He also commended the APC national chairman for opting for direct primaries saying that such system had reduced incidents of rancour and violence during primary elections, citing previous cases where lives were lost at party primaries in Akwa Ibom.

While congratulating President Bola Tinubu for the overwhelming victory in the state, he assured him of replicating same during the 2027 presidential election.

It would be recalled that, Governor Pastor Umo Eno also emerged as the governorship flag bearer for the state after results of APC governorship primary conducted on Thursday, May 21, 2026

Both President Tinubu and Governor Eno were returned unopposed in their respective primary as there were no oppositions who contested against them.
