Gov Idris Releases 2.07bn To Higher Institutions

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has released N2.07 billion naira to improve the standard of higher institutions of the state, Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Abubakar Tunga announced on Tuesday during a news conference at the Conference Hall of his ministry in Birnin Kebbi.
He disclosed that N1.750 billion has been utilised in the purchase of seven coaster buses presented to Abdullahi Fodio University of Science And Technology, Aliero (AFUSTA), Adamu Augie College of Education (AACOE) Argungu, Kebbi State College of Nursing Sciences Birnin Kebbi.
Other beneficiaries include Kauran Gwandu College of Nursing And Midwifery Sciences, Ambursa, Kebbi State College of Health Sciences And Technology Jega, Kebbi State Polytechnic, Dakingari and the Kebbi State College of Advance And Legal Studies, Yelwa/Yauri.
Another payments made in mude N172,154,817 million for the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowances (CATA) and Consolidated Non-Teaching Tools Allowances (CONTTA) salary structure for the ASUU, SSANU, NASU and NAAT chapters of the Abdullahi Fodio University of Science And Technology, Aliero.
Similarly, the Commissioner further disclosed that the Governor has approved the inclusion of the CATA/CONTTA salary structure into the monthly subvention of AFUSTA Varsity at the annual cost of N2.066 billion in addition to the payment for the Identify Annual Increment Arrears (IAIA) for the University’s lecturers amounting to N151,517,736.08.
The governor, according to the commissioner, has appointed Dr. Zayyanu Umar Makerar Gandu as the Provost to the Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu.
