The Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) has been recognized as the Best Football Association in Nigeria by the organizers of the N-Youth League, following the successful conclusion of the competition’s grand finale held in Eket, Akwa Ibom State on May 31, 2026.

The event brought together zonal champions from across the country to compete for the coveted national title.

At the end of the competition, Sporting Supreme Youth FC, representing the FCT, emerged as champions after an impressive campaign.
In recognition of its outstanding contributions to youth football development and the success of the N-Youth League, the FCT Football Association received the award for the Best FA in the country.

The organizers commended the Association’s commitment to the competition, particularly its role in facilitating the participation of eight teams from the FCT and providing access to quality playing facilities for matches held within the territory.

Reacting to the recognition, Chairman of the FCT Football Association, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, expressed delight at the honour, attributing the achievement to the Association’s unwavering commitment to youth football development.

“I am very excited about this award. We have worked hard to be where we are today. We have consistently supported teams and made efforts to maintain and improve existing football infrastructure to aid training and the hosting of competitions. Facilities in Bwari and Area 3 hosted most of the N-Youth League matches, and this reflects our commitment to prioritizing youth development, as they are the future of football in the FCT and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed also congratulated Sporting Supreme Youth FC on their remarkable achievement and encouraged the team to continue representing the FCT with pride and excellence.

“I commend the management of Sporting Supreme Youth FC and congratulate the players for their outstanding performance throughout the competition. This victory is well deserved. I also celebrate every other FCT youth teams that participated in the league. It was not an easy journey, but you all gave your best, and I am proud of your efforts. The FCT FA will continue to support youth teams in every possible way,” he added.

The N-Youth League is a unique developmental competition designed to nurture young football talents across Nigeria. The league provides youth teams with a platform to develop age-grade players, gain competitive experience, and attract opportunities for growth through grassroots football development.

The recognition of the FCT Football Association and the triumph of Sporting Supreme Youth FC underscored the growing impact of football development initiatives within the Federal Capital Territory and reaffirmed the importance of sustained investment in youth football.
