Ex-Governor Aregbesola Makes Personal Revelation At ADC Campaign Rally In Osun

According to report by Nigerian Tribune on Monday, August 10, 2026, as Rauf Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State and current ADC national secretary, has revealed, he has been true to his wife Sherifat during their whole marriage.

During an ADC campaign rally in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, Aregbesola made the announcement while addressing supporters in the run-up to the governorship election on August 15.

The former governor spoke Yoruba as he discussed the connection between his devotion to his marriage and his faith.

He claims that his commitment to his wife and his fear of God were demonstrated by a personal vow he made.

Aregbesola admitted that he, like many men, may not have a perfect marital record. He said, nonetheless, that since they were married, he had been faithful to his wife because of his religion and dedication.

He supposedly informed the audience that he had consulted God about his political goals and that he was certain they would come true in due time.

Political parties in Osun State have ramped up their campaigns in the lead-up to Saturday’s governorship election, which prompted the declaration.

In this election, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke is likely to face off against two other candidates, one from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the other from the ADC, Bola Oyebamiji.

Accord Party candidate Adeleke is running for reelection, while APC candidate Oyebamiji is challenging him. The ADC candidate that has the support of Aregbesola and other prominent party members is Salaam.

All around the state, people are trying to sway voters in favour of the leading candidates and their campaigns as the election draws near.

In his efforts to bolster the ADC’s position before the pivotal Osun governorship election, Aregbesola engaged with ADC supporters in a more comprehensive manner at the Ejigbo event.
