Erdogan Openly Threatens Israel With Invasion …Calls For Islamic Alliance – Levy
According to a video shared by Fox News on Sunday, August 23, 2026, former Israeli government spokesperson Eylon Levy spoke about what he described as direct threats against Israel from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During an interview with Live NOW from Fox, Levy said public statements about a possible military invasion should be treated as a serious security concern for Israel.
He argued that Turkey’s rhetoric is reinforced by its military presence in Syria. Levy explained that Israeli airstrikes targeting airfields in northern Syria were intended to prevent Ankara from deploying advanced air-defence systems that could limit Israel’s freedom of military operations.
Levy said Erdogan had openly threatened Israel with an invasion, called for an Islamic alliance against the country and publicly prayed for its destruction.
He also expressed hope that the United States could help mediate a stable situation in Syria and prevent Turkish forces from moving closer to Israel’s borders.
According to Levy, Erdogan has also told his domestic supporters that he wants to “conquer” Jerusalem, presenting the idea as part of a wider Islamist agenda. Levy connected this rhetoric to comments attributed to Turkey’s interior minister about wanting to become governor of Jerusalem.
Levy further referred to reports alleging that Iran-linked hackers disrupted a small British power facility for four days. He warned that modern cyber warfare makes it possible to target critical infrastructure without using conventional weapons.
However, British officials said the affected facility was relatively small and stressed that the wider electricity grid was never placed at risk.
