Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Prices Below Imported Fuel Costs

Petrol from the Dangote Refinery is now selling below the cost of imported supplies, according to the latest gantry and ex-depot price schedules issued by the refinery and the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN).

The pricing template places Dangote’s premium motor spirit (PMS) at N1,165 per litre, compared with N1,218.54 per litre for imported petrol. The domestic product is therefore N53.54 per litre cheaper, representing a 4.39% discount.

Lower depot prices at Dangote and other fuel-storage operators have contributed to a decline in retail petrol prices over the past two weeks. Filling stations in Abuja and surrounding areas are now charging between N1,210 and N1,300 per litre.
