Bauchi Gov To Appoint Village Heads Across Soon

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has on Tuesday engaged key stakeholders from across all Local Government areas of the State as part of efforts to appoint village heads for their respective communities.
The exercise which took place at the old banquet hall of the Bauchi Government House, followed the recent creation of new emirates, intended to bring governance closer to the people and strengthen traditional institutions.

In his remarks during the engagement, Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized the importance of inclusivity, consultation and respect for tradition in the selection process, noting that village heads play critical roles in maintaining peace, mobilizing communities and supporting government initiatives at the grassroots level.
He noted that the appointments will be guided by community input and established norms, with the aim of ensuring that those selected are widely accepted and able to effectively serve their people.
