The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mr Andy Odeh, has described the Corporate Leadership Award conferred on the company’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, as a significant recognition of the transformation taking place within the national energy company.

Speaking when he received the award plaque from the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Blueprint Newspapers Limited, Mr Salisu Umar, at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Monday, Odeh said the honour affirmed the growing public appreciation of Ojulari’s leadership, professional competence and commitment to repositioning NNPC Limited as a commercially driven, efficient and globally competitive energy company.

He said the award was particularly meaningful because it acknowledged not only the accomplishments of the Group Chief Executive Officer but also the collective efforts of the company’s management and workforce in advancing Nigeria’s energy security and economic development.

He said the award also carried a responsibility for the national energy company to maintain high standards, deepen stakeholder confidence and pursue initiatives capable of delivering lasting benefits to the country.

Justifying the choice of Ojulari for the Corporate Leadership Award, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Blueprint Newspapers Limited, Salisu Umar, said the recognition followed a careful assessment of the NNPC helmsman’s leadership qualities, professional record and contributions to the corporation’s institutional progress.

He said Ojulari had demonstrated the competence, courage and corporate discipline required to steer an organisation as important and complex as NNPC Limited at a defining moment in the country’s energy history.

He said the award was also an endorsement of the reforms, renewed commercial orientation and operational improvements being pursued under Ojulari’s leadership.

He explained that NNPC Limited occupies a pivotal position in the Nigerian economy, making the quality of its leadership crucial to energy security, government revenue, industrial development and investor confidence.

He urged the GCEO to regard the honour as a celebration of progress and a call to achieve greater results for the company and the nation.

He reaffirmed Blueprint Newspaper’s resolve to promote excellence in public service and corporate governance by recognising leaders and institutions whose work positively affects society.
