An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Ambursa town in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Chiso Nayaya Ambursa has sued one, Mubarak Sani Dangana, a social media influencer in the area for posting a malicious story against him.
Chiso Ambursa filed the case against Mubarak Sani before the Shari’ah Court sitting in Ambursa three days ago. while hearing the case on Wednesday, 19th August, 2026, the judge instructed his Registrar to adjourn the case till Thursday, August 20 for the continuation and ruling.
Speaking shortly after the adjournment, the complainant, Chiso Ambursa explained that he was disheartened when a video created by Mubarak Sani alleging that he had misappropriated funds which Governor Nasir Idris donated to some people in Ambursa town went viral.
He said, in the video which Mubarak circulated, one Umar na Umar, a beneficiary of the donated funds, claimed the party chieftain gave him nothing whereas 10,000 naira was already in his possession as the records showed.
Ambursa explained that the funds in question was a gift from Governor Idris to the group of people who usually stationed themselves by the roadside in Ambursa to welcome the Governor while passing through the area as a mark of respect, confirming that the funds were disbursed accordingly.
The defendant, Mubarak Sani, could not present any evidence that led to the circulation of the viral video and neither did he respond to the demands of the complainant seeking the court to compel the defendant to pay him damages.
The complainant also said, he has every evidence to present to the court in defence while Mubarak Sani Dangana was unable to defend himself.
He said “Mubarak Sani alongside his people wanted me to withdraw the case based on an out-of-court settlement but, I declined because of the trust Governor Nasir Idris has on me.
“I want to prove that I am innocent in this sharing of the N10 million given to the people of Ambursa through me which have been judiciously shared among all concerned in Ambursa,” Chiso Ambursa added.
He, however, urged his supporters to maintain law and order while he donated some cash to the women in Ambursa, Lagga and Ujariyo wards who stormed the court premisses to support him.
