Wasiu Ayinde apologises to Tinubu, NCAA, FAAN, others
According to a post from Channels Tv, Fuji music legend, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has tendered a public apology following the controversy surrounding his alleged disruptive behavior aboard a recent commercial flight. The incident, which reportedly led to his eviction from the aircraft, has sparked nationwide attention and drawn criticism from various quarters.
In a heartfelt statement released on Thursday, Wasiu Ayinde expressed deep remorse over the situation, clarifying that he never intended to disrespect the authorities or jeopardize the safety and order of the flight. He particularly apologized to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as a father figure and leader he deeply respects, stating that he regrets any embarrassment the issue may have caused the presidency.
“I offer my unreserved apologies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom I revere and honour as a mentor and leader. I deeply regret that my actions, though unintended to offend, may have been perceived as a breach of public conduct,” the statement read.
K1 also extended his apologies to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the pilot in command of the aircraft involved, and the airline staff who were affected by the incident. He acknowledged the importance of rules and protocols in aviation and assured the public that he will uphold such standards in the future.
“To the NCAA, FAAN, and especially the captain and crew of the flight, I sincerely apologize. It was never my intention to delay or disrupt operations,” he stated.
Additionally, he apologized to his fans, supporters, and the general Nigerian public, many of whom were shocked by reports of the incident. K1 noted that as a public figure, he recognizes the responsibility that comes with his status and promised to conduct himself with greater restraint and maturity going forward.
The statement has been met with mixed reactions, but many have commended the veteran singer for taking responsibility and attempting to make amends. It remains to be seen whether any regulatory actions will follow, but for now, the apology may help ease tensions surrounding the matter.
This development marks a significant moment for the Fuji icon, who has been in the public eye for decades and continues to command a loyal fan base across Nigeria and beyond.
