The Kebbi State Commissioner for Transport and Renewable Energy, Bala Muhammad Gagga has commended the mangers of the state’s Transport Authority Buses for maintaining the standard regulations for commuting.

“The buses have become useful to commuters, particularly the common man and I therefore commend the operators for the maintenance of the buses and satisfactory services.”

Gagga made the remarks while speaking with journalists in his office at the new site of the state’s Secretariat, Gwadangaji in Birnin Kebbi.

He noted that Governor Nasir Idris has procured the buses and provided them to the revamped Kebbi State Transport Authority (KSTA) scheme under the newly established Ministry of Transport And Renewable Energy with a view to boosting the state’s revenue generation.

“And this initiative by Governor Idris has started yielding positive results as the coffers of the Authority has swollen,” said Gagga.

“The money generated is safe and untouchable, with no kobo has been removed since the buses were consigned to the Authority by the government,” he added.

According to the commissioner, people are appreciating the services of the buses with appeals to Governor Idris to provide more in order to expand the services to inter-state.

“Presently, we have 50 buses operating across the 21 Local Government areas of the state and the neighbouring Sokoto State at affordable fares,” the commissioner added.
