…Reassures government’s commitment

By Ado Salisu, Kano

Chairman of the newly reconstituted Kano State Sports Commission, KSSC, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida has reiterated his commitment to improving sports infrastructure and promoting excellence in sports administration in the state.

Babangida stated this when he paid a surprise visit to the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata where he was warmly received by the stadium management, staff and thousands of well-wishers.

The visit marks his first official inspection of one of the facilities under the Commission since taking over from his predecessor.

Addressing the staff, Babangida urged them to remain committed to their duties, particularly in the area of stadium maintenance.

The chairman called on all members of the staff to work collectively in delivering the Commission’s vision and ensuring that Sani Abacha Stadium becomes one of the finest and most admired sporting facilities in the country.

Babangida added that the aim of the visit was to strengthen working relationship between the him and the Commission’s workforce, while assessing the current state of the stadium and identifying areas that require government’s attention.

The chairman used the opportunity to also call on all stakeholders to continue to partner with the Commission with the aim of moving the state to greater heights.
