Yobe SSG Receives APC North-East Strategic Youth Lobby Group

The Acting Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Dr. Mohammed Goje, on Friday received members of the APC North-East Strategic Youth Lobby Group on a courtesy and congratulatory visit, during which both parties reaffirmed their commitment to youth inclusion, purposeful leadership and sustainable development.

In a press statement by Ibrahim Baba Saleh who is the Media Coordinator/Liaison Officer of the SSG said, leading the delegation, Hon. Abdulkadir Jajere first commended the Executive Governor of Yobe State, His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, for his visionary leadership and deliberate policy of integrating young professionals into governance.

He described the governor’s strategic blend of youthful energy with the experience and wisdom of senior statesmen as a model worthy of emulation across the country.

Hon. Jajere noted that the APC North-East Strategic Youth Lobby Group traces its roots to Governor Buni’s tenure as Chairman of the APC Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), during which he brought together young professionals and political leaders across the country to strengthen youth participation within the party.

He recalled that Dr. Mohammed Goje was among the members brought into the initiative, describing his appointment as Acting Secretary to the State Government as a natural progression of Governor Buni’s enduring investment in competent young leaders.

He thereafter congratulated Dr. Goje on his appointment, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his dedication, competence and outstanding record of public service.

He expressed confidence that Dr. Goje would justify the confidence reposed in him and make meaningful contributions to the continued success of the Buni administration.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation which include Musa Usman Terrang, PhD, who previously served in the Office of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Barr. Muzammil from Gombe State, a legal practitioner; Grema Terab, Executive Secretary of the Borno State Education Trust Fund; Dr. Aliyu, a lecturer and politician from Adamawa State; and Hajiya Aisha Haruna, a private sector businesswoman, others are Comr. Idriss Ayuba, Khaleed Adamu Saurayi who all applauded Governor Buni’s strategic vision of nurturing a new generation of leaders by combining youthful innovation with the experience of elder statesmen in public service.

While congratulating Dr. Goje, each member of the delegation pledged their support towards ensuring his success in office, expressing confidence that his leadership would further strengthen governance and inspire more young people across the North-East.

Also speaking, Dr. Kagu, on behalf of young political appointees in Yobe State under the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni, assured the delegation of their collective support for the Acting SSG in delivering on the mandate entrusted to him.

He added that they would continuously remind Dr. Goje that his performance is being closely watched not only in Yobe State but across the North-East by many young leaders who see his appointment as a source of inspiration, a responsibility that would keep him focused and committed to excellence.

Responding, Dr. Mohammed Goje expressed profound appreciation to the delegation for the visit and their goodwill. On behalf of Governor Mai Mala Buni, he thanked them for their confidence in the administration and for sustaining the ideals of youth participation and progressive leadership initiated during Governor Buni’s national assignment in the APC.

The acting SSG reaffirmed that the Yobe State Government remains committed to creating opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to governance and socio-economic development.

He urged the delegation to continue promoting unity, peaceful coexistence, and constructive engagement, stressing that sustainable development can only be achieved through collective responsibility and active youth participation.

Dr. Goje thereafter hosted members of the delegation to a brief dinner, where discussions continued on strengthening regional collaboration, youth leadership, and support for the continued success of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration.
