Bauchi Governor Receives Niger Counterpart On Condolence Visit

Following the passing of a renowned business mogul and elder stateman, Alhaji Ahmadu Laushi, in Bauçhi on 2nd june, 2026, Governor Bala Mohammed, today, 3rd June, 2026, received a delegation led by the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, on a condolence visit.

The Niger State delegation, while at the Government House, Bauchi, informed that the visit was on behalf of the government and people of Niger State to sympathize with the Bauchi State Government and the family of the deceased.

Governor Bago, described late Ahmadu Laushi as a respected citizen whose death was a great loss not only to Bauchi State but Nigeria as a whole, praying to Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

He, however, commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his giant stride development in Bauchi State, describing him as his mentor considering his stewardship in public service that continued to inspire younger leaders.

Responding, Governor Bala Mohammed thanked his Niger counterpart and his entourage for the visit describing, late Ahmadu Laushi as one of Northern Nigeria’s most influential businessmen and community leaders.

He noted that Laushi was a native of Bauchi State, he made significant contributions to commerce and trade in Jos and other parts of the country, positively impacting many lives through his mentorship and support.

He described the late businessman as a role model whose legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
