National Para Games: Team Bauchi Hauls 16 Medals, Thanks Gov Mohammed

As the curtains of the 3rd National Para Games fall, the Bauchi State athletes in various events continued to project the image of the state as the Mecca of sports in Nigeria.

The Bauchi State Director of Sports, Ado Tanko said in an interview with our Correspondent that his team is performed wonderfully in the National Para Games in Abuja, with Ahmed Muhammad winning a bronze in shot put to raise the state’s position on the medals table.

According to the Director, five additional medals were skillfully captured by Ibrahim Rabi’u, Umar Muhammad, Galadima, Ta’aziyya Benjamin while Za’ayau Musa Badas and Esther James, won silver in para powerlifting, bronze in karate, a gold and bronze in shooting, and silver in table tennis mix-double respectively.

He informed that team Bauchi has also shown impressive performance in sitting volleyball, beating Bayelsa 3-0 and a walk over Lagos.

Ado Tanko, while commending the outstanding performance of athletes, expressed appreciation to the state chairman of Para Athletic Association, Alhaji Mohammed Sirajo Jaja, for his presence throughout with the winning athletes and moral support that boosted their morale to maintain the good name of the state in sports development.
