Gov Buni Commits To Tackling Environmental Challenges 

…Receives ACReSAL Policy Document

Yobe State Governor Hon. (Dr.) Mai Mala Buni has reiterated the commitment of his administration to tackling environmental challenges confronting the state.

A statement by Mamman Muhammad who is the Director-General on Press and Media Affairs to the Governor said the governor stated this today while receiving the state policy document on climate change at the Government House in Damaturu.

He said the government accorded priority to flood, erosion control and desert encroachment among others to tackle the challenges of climate change in the state.

The Commissioner for Environment and Chairman ACReSAL steering committee, Alhaji Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa, while presenting the document to Governor Buni, said the document would serve as a guide to handling the effects of climate change in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government and chairman of the policy document committee, Baba Malam Wali, represented by the Director-General, YOGIS, Dr. Hassan Gana, commended Governor Buni for adopting policies, programmes and projects aimed at mitigating environmental challenges across the state.
