Cross River Head of Service Affirms Suspension Of Chief VIO, CRBC Staff

The Cross River State Head of Service, Orok Bassey Okon Esq has clarified media reports about the state’s Chief Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO), Engr. Ojen Okoi Ayang and Ursula Onah Agbor of the state-owned media outfit, CRBC.

In a statement Friday in Calabar, Mr. Okon Esq announced that both officers, Ayang and Agbor have been placed on indefinite suspension without pay, pending the conclusion of an ongoing investigation into their alleged involvement in unauthorized private transactions.

The Head of Service also condemned in totality, the use of the Governor’s name in private and unwholesome transactions, describing such conduct as unethical, unacceptable and unprofessional, and contrary to the core values of the public service.

He reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to transparency, integrity and accountability in public service operations, warning that any form of misconduct or abuse of office will continue to attract appropriate disciplinary measures.

He gave assurance that the investigation will be thorough, impartial and conducted in accordance with established public service rules and procedures.
