Emir Sanusi, Other Prominent Nigerians Receive Body of Late Emir of Zuru as It Arrives from London

According to TVC News on Friday, August 22, 2025, the body of the late Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (Rtd), arrived in Nigeria from London, where he passed away after a brief illness.

The remains were received at the Zuru Airport, Kebbi State by prominent Nigerians, including the 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the Zuru Emirate Council.

The atmosphere was solemn as family members, close associates, and sympathizers gathered to pay their last respects.

Security operatives and cultural groups from Kebbi State were also present to honor the late monarch, who was highly revered for his leadership, military service, and commitment to the unity of Nigeria.

TVC News reports that after the arrival, the body was transported to Kebbi State, where burial rites will be conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Tributes have continued to pour in from across the country, with leaders describing the late Emir as a patriotic Nigerian, a bridge builder, and a custodian of cultural heritage.

The Kebbi State Government has declared a period of mourning to honor the departed royal father.
