Chairman Disabled Commission Empowers 200 PWDs In Kebbi

The Chairman of the Commission For Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) of Kebbi state, Hon. Anas Malami Gwandu has empowered 200 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Gwandu Local Government area of Kebbi State with cash support to promote economic inclusion, self- reliance and improve livelihood among PWDs members in the area.
The programme which held at Gwandu Town Hall was attended by PWDs from different communities across Gwandu Local Government area, as well as some stakeholders and supporters of APC in the area.
At the disbursement ceremony, the chairman of Disabled Commission, Hon. Anas Malami Gwandu disclosed that the empowerment was designed to support the beneficiaries in improving their small businesses, starting income- generating revenue and to meet some of their immediate economic challenges.
He added that the initiative reflects the growing commitment to ensuring that the PWDs members were not left behind in government and community programmes.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the rights, welfare and economic empowerment of PWDs family in Kebbi.
Gwandu, however, stressed for the importance of creating opportunities that will enable PWDs to become economically motivated and independent in order to become contributors to the development of their communities.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to journalists shortly, commended the efforts of the chairman urging other leaders of the associations, board and commission to emulate him.
