The Gwarzo Solidarity Movement (GSM) has appealed to Kano State electorate to massively endorse the candidacy of the state’s governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, describing him as the best choice for the state in the 2027 election.
Speaking with Purveyor in Enugu Sunday, the group’s coordinator Hon. Jamilu Hamidan Tsanyawa said the choice of Gwarzo was necessitated by his vast leadership experience.
“Gwarzo is not a newcomer to the corridors of power, with political experience spanning over twenty years.
“He was Chairman, Governing Council, Federal College of Education, Kontagora; Member, National Assembly Commission; Commissioner in four different ministries in Kano State, two-time Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Council, and just recently, Deputy Governor of Kano State,” Tsanyawa said.
He added that the group’s formation was informed by Comrade Gwarzo’s refusal to defect with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a decision that endeared him to the people of the state.
“Instead, he resigned as Deputy Governor of Kano State, proving his loyalty to Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and the structure that brought him and the governor to power.
“This has established Comrade Aminu Gwarzo as a very dependable leader, one to be trusted by the people of Kano State,” he said.
“One thing we Kano people detest is betrayal, and whoever betrays the responsibility entrusted to them will face our wrath at the ballot box. And Gwarzo is the best machinery we can use to replace this sitting administration.”
He said the Gwarzo Solidarity Movement (GSM) was in Enugu as part of its tour of the southern region to mobilise support for the governorship candidacy of Gwarzo.
“We are moving from state to state to reach out to our Kano people, most of whom usually register to vote at home, and enlightening them on the need to vote for NDC and its candidate, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, as the best choice for the progress and development of Kano State.”
