APM Beats APC, PDP As INEC Declares Election Results In Bauchi

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the results of the two State House of Assembly bye-elections conducted in Bauchi State on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
The elections were held in the Sakwa State Constituency of Zaki Local Government Area and the Disina State Constituency of Shira Local Government Area following vacancies created in the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
In Sakwa, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) secured victory, with its candidate, Hon. Adamu Yakubu, polling 8,515 votes to emerge winner.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) came second with 3,771 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recorded 2,076 votes. The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) polled 727 votes.
The result was declared by the Returning Officer for the election, Professor Muhammad Sabo of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, after the collation of results from the constituency.
Professor Sabo declared Yakubu duly elected after he scored the highest number of votes cast in the constituency.
