… As Ahmad Lawan Declares Support for Wali

In a significant political development that signals unity within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, former Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has formally declared his acceptance of the party’s consensus decision endorsing Alhaji Baba Malam Wali as its preferred gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general elections.
A statement posted on his official Facebook wall, Lawan described the moment as a “critical crossroad” in the state’s political journey, calling for reflection, unity and total loyalty to the party’s collective decision.
He reaffirmed the APC’s earlier resolution to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while rallying stakeholders across the state to align with consensus candidates for all elective positions.
Lawan acknowledged the diversity of opinions and aspirations among his supporters but emphasized that the survival and progress of Yobe State must take precedence over individual ambitions.
“Politics is never about the desire of one man; it is about the collective future of our people,” he stated.
The Yobe North leader framed the emergence of Baba Malam Wali as a historic opportunity for the zone, noting that it represents what many see as a long-awaited chance for the district to produce a governor since the creation of the state.
In a move aimed at consolidating party cohesion, Lawan extended a hand of fellowship to the APC flagbearer and pledged his full support to ensure sweeping electoral victories for the party in 2027.
He urged his supporters to return to their wards with a message of peace and unity, stressing the importance of grassroots mobilization and discipline within party ranks.
“We must march into 2027 not as a divided house, but as an indomitable political force,” he declared.
