$10,000 Up For Grabs At DAM Northwest Basketball Tourney

Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha DAM Foundation has earmarked $10,000 US dollars for winners of the Northwest Basketball Championship scheduled to hold from April 16th to 19th, 2026 in Kano.

A breakdown of the prizes at stake revealed that the winners will cart home $5,000; runners up $2,000 and the third place winners will receive $1,000 in the male category. The female category winners will smile home with $1,500 and runners up $500.

According to the tournament’s sponsor, Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha, other consolidated prizes are also expected to be grabbed in the championship.

Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha of DAM Foundation Championship will feature both male and female teams competing for honours in what promises to be a landmark sporting event.

Participating state teams include Zamfara Shooters, Kebbi Warriors, Sokoto Galaxy, Katsina Desert Warriors, Jigawa Golden Stars, Kaduna Fresh Stars and the host state – Kano Giants, and NTITII Thunder Basketball Team, all set to showcase their emerging talents on a competitive regional platform.

The female state teams include Kaduna Haiti Warriors Queen, Kano Bukavu Blinks Queen, Kebbi Equity Angels and D-Suns Basketball Club.

Dr. Mustapha explained that the technical meeting and opening ceremony is expected to hold on Thursday, April 16th, 2026.

Basketball top shot in the calibre of the President of the Nigerian Basketball Federation NBBF, Alhaji Musa Kida is expected to attend both the opening and closing ceremonies.
