Unbeaten Vipers Emerge Champions Of 2025 Nat Div 1 League

VIP Spikers Volleyball Club of Abuja have been emerged champions of the 2025 National Division One Volleyball League (Women’s Category) after an impressive unbeaten run that saw them dominate both phases of the competition in Abia on Saturday. 

The Vipers won all 20 matches, amassing a total of 59 points, to secure automatic qualification for the 2026 CGC Volleyball Premier League.

Their stellar performance also earned them several individual awards, including: Precious Nwadiogor (Best Middle Blocker), Gift Iwobi (Best Attacker) and Precious Terseer (Most Valuable Player).

Speaking after the victory, Team Manager, Abiodun Suraj praised the players led by Chilota Marvellous (Captain) for their determination and teamwork throughout the competition.

Suraj also congratulated the coaching crew of multiple national champion, Franscica Ikhiede and John Pada for making history with the team.

He said, “he players have been exceptional from start to finish, showing real character, discipline, and hunger to win every single match. This title is a reward for their hard work.”

He highlighted the team’s strategy of combining youthful energy with experience, describing it as the key to their success.

“Our philosophy is to invest in young players and give them a platform to grow. We blended youth with experience, and that balance paid off perfectly.”

Styled in the traditional Adire attire, Suraj said the idea is to promote the Nigerian culture and sell the image of the country positively

Suraj also expressed gratitude to the club’s sponsors for their unwavering support since the team’s inception just five months ago.

“We appreciate our sponsors for believing in us. Their support and logistics made this journey possible, and we’re proud to repay that faith with a championship.”
