How Team Addah Spelling Bee Finals Unveiled Hidden Talents

The maiden edition of Team Addah Annual Spelling Bee Competition for Junior and Senior Secondary Schools categories in Zone One of Kaduna State, has unveiled hidden talented students, given their intellectual display at the final stage of the competition.

Zipporal Omere Victor from Vital Years Secondary School of Sabon Gari Local Government emerged champion for the Seniors while Abdulaziz Alhassan from Alu Dan Sidi LGEA Primary School in Zaria Local Government emerged champion in the Junior category,

The academic drill aimed at identifying young talents, was organized in honour of Governor Uba Sani’s initiative of investing more on education, aimed at providing quality education and exploring young minds with exceptional talents for brighter educational future.

The competition held at the Dr. M. I. Maccido Hall, Federal University of Education, Zaria witnessed intense and highly competitive spelling battles as students from various secondary schools showcased exceptional brilliance, confidence and intellectual ability.

Speaking at the event Governor Uba Sani who was represented by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, said their administration remains committed to investing in the education of younger generation, stressing that the future always begins with the children.

He stated that education is the significant pathway to a reliable future, reaffirming the government’s dedication to providing education for all children in the state.

“Investing in education remains our top priority as education is tantamount to investing in peace, progress and prosperity.

“I believe this competition would significantly enhance learning outcomes and inspire students to develop a stronger passion for education.

“I therefore commend the organizers of the competition, Team Addah, and all other contributors for their efforts in facilitating its success,” the governor said.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Dahiru Liman, expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing the competition as a strong and practical step towards strengthening the educational system in the state.

Liman who commended the sponsor for her resilience, commitment and selfless service, aimed at ensuring quality education, assured of his continuous support towards achieving the desired goal.

Earlier in her speech, the sponsor of the Team Addah Spelling Bee Competition, Barrister Aisha Ahmad Muhammad (Addah) said the initiative is a strategic contribution towards supporting the educational reform agenda of Governor Uba Sani in Kaduna State.

She emphasized that the programme was designed to complement the state government’s efforts in delivering quality education and nurturing academic excellence among young learners.

Barrister Muhammad explained that secondary schools from Eight Local Government areas of Zone One, have participated at both Junior and Senior categories.

She expressed delight with the keen display of talent exhibited by all the students that competed in the contests, stressing that the overall aim has been achieved.

At the end of the competition, Zippora Victor of Vital Years Secondary School, from Sabon Gari Local Government emerged winner of the Senior Secondary School category, while Abdulaziz Alhassan of Alu Dan Sidi LGEA Primary Echool of Zaria Local Government became the winner of the Junior category.

Various consolation prizes were awarded to the winners and all students that participated in the final competition.
