PDP Dissolves Akwa Ibom Exco, Constitutes Caretaker Committee

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has, at its meeting Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, pursuant to its powers under the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017) approved the dissolution of the Akwa Ibom State Executive of the party, apress statement signed by National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Hon. Debo Ologunagba has stated.
In the effect, the NWC has approved the composition of a Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the State’s chapter of the party effective from Tuesday, September 30th, 2025 for a period not exceeding three months, or until such a time a new State Executive Committee will be elected in the state.
The Caretaker Committee members are; Iwat Umoren – Chairman, Harrison Ekpo – Deputy Chairman, Borono Bassey – Secretary, Bar. Ewa Okpo – Publicity Secretary, Emman Mbong – Organizing Secretary, Hon. Aniekan Asuquo – Youth Leader, Mary Silvia Abara – Woman Leader, Barr. Enoch Enoch – Legal Adviser, Hon. Aniebiet Cornelius – Member, Udim Peters – Member, Mrs. Ayanime Obot – Member, Hon. Ofon Michael – Member, Esther Bassey Effiong – Member, Hon. David Umanah – Member and Usenmfon Ibanga – Member as well as Unwana Assam – Member
Others are; Obong Francis Akpan Ogbuji -Member, Ndianabasi Udom – Member, Emibana Ubolum – Member, Hon. Gregory Ekpo Etim – Member, Iberedem Asamamnyie – Member, Barr. Mfom Ben – Member, Iniobong Ukwak – Member, Hon. Emmanuel Umah – Member, Ekaette Philips – Member, Effiong Asuquo Bassey – Member, Barr. The NWC called on all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of the party in the state to remain united and continue to work together for the progress of the party.
